Britain Loves Food and DrinkWeird drinks from foreign holidays
Who needs holiday snaps when you’ve got a cupboard full of weird drinks to remind you of your foreign travels? These are the exotic drinks which tasted magical when sipped under the moonlit sky of a Greek island - but now you’re back home and it tastes, well… weird. Maybe it was the iced glass they served it in, or maybe you were just a little tipsy at the time.
Whatever the reason, you slide the bottle back into the cabinet; next to the rest of your travel tipple collection - the green and blue liquors, the fruit shaped bottles, the indecipherable labels. This is the drinks equivalent of a well-stamped passport.
Most of these will have been sitting there, three-quarters drunk, for years; but you can’t throw them out. No way. Too many memories. And then, of course, there’s the novelty factor of getting visitors to try a little toot of the drink you brought back from Turkey. The one that makes them pull a face like Eric Morecambe.
When travelling abroad to collect these bizarre drinks, don’t worry about using the internet on your phone, go crazy if you like, because we’ve got great internet roaming boosters.
